Cupid and Psyche

"I gave her love, and she gave me soul" //Cupid & Psyche
The story of how the god of love found his "soul" in Greek mythology... Cupid (Eros) was sent by his mother, Aphrodite to shoot Psyche (Soul) with one of his lethal arrows to make her fall in love with a hideous monster. Why would she want that you may ask? Aphrodite was jealous of Psyche and her following she had unintentionally gathered. People admired her and her beauty, and began worshiping her while abandoning the goddesses temples. Cupid attempting to please his mother went with every intent to shoot the girl as commanded. But once he gazed upon the beautiful princess he himself fell in love. He began to court her in secret and had many adventures together. Eventually tiring of the secrecy, Psyche was made a goddess and married to the God of Love.
